The recall relates to several batches of Marks & Spencer branded ‘Southern Fried Chicken Burgers’ and ‘Chicken Kyivs’ sold in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

According M&S, the recall was announced despite their being a “very low risk of microbiological contamination in a small number of packs”.
Symptoms caused by consuming a product that has been contaminated with Salmonella can often include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.
To alert consumers, Marks & Spencer is displaying point of sale notices in all retail stores where the products included in the recall are sold, which urge consumers not to consume them and instead to return them to a store for a full refund.
“Customer safety is of paramount importance to Marks & Spencer and we take all issues regarding the production of our foods extremely seriously,” the notices read.
“Please do not consume this product. Any customers in possession of this product can return it to their nearest store where a full refund will be given.
“Only the displayer date codes are impacted. No other M&S products are affected. We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”
This is just the latest recall to be announced in Northern Ireland this month, with Lidl NI alerting consumers to a batch of cheddar that had been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
