The Scottish Food Trade Association (SFTA) has announced the election of its new president and vice president.

Sheree McNair and Alison Dyet have been elected as president and vice president respectively, following unanimous approval from the association’s executive committee.

McNair is regional account manager for STEF Langdons, a cold chain operations provider, where she and her team are responsible for the movements of chilled and frozen palletised food products collected within Scotland and distributed throughout the UK mainland.

Food sector experience

She has more than 10 years’ experience within the supply chain sector, having previously served as freight account manager for Swiss logistics company Kuehne+Nugel.

As president, Sheree will provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure that the SFTA continues to foster growth and the best representation of the interests of members in the sector.

She takes over the role from outgoing president Alex McLean, who departs after two years at the helm.

Commenting on her election to president, McNair said: “I am honoured to have been elected as President of the Scottish Food Trade Association. Scotland’s food industry is a vital component of our economy, and I am committed to work alongside our members to promote collaboration and growth.”

Dairy expertise

McNair’s presidency will be supported by Dyet, who boast more than 10 years’ experience working within the dairy sector. Currently serving as regional development manager at Müller Milk & Ingredients, she joined the dairy firm in 2013 as national account executive.

As vice president, Alison will work closely with Sheree and the executive committee to champion the interests of SFTA members.

“I am thrilled to serve as the Vice President of the Scotland Food Association,” said Dyet. “I look forward to collaborating with Sheree and our executive committee to advance the interests of our members and ensure the continued success of the Scottish Food Trade Association.”

Meanwhile, drinks giant Diageo has announced that Sir John Manzoni will become chair of the board in February 2025 when Javier Ferrán retires.
