Former Greencore CCO to lead Valeo Foods in the UK

Former Greencore deputy chief executive and chief commercial officer Kevin Moore has been appointed the new chief executive of Valeo Foods Group.

Effective from 5 June, Moore will become the first leader for the entire Valeo Foods UK portfolio, which includes the Valeo Snackfoods, Rowse and Matthew Walker Businesses.

In his new role, Moore will be responsible for driving growth of Valeo Foods’ UK portfolio and “strengthening the overall organisation​”.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “I’m very excited to be joining Valeo Foods, and see huge opportunity to further developing an exciting UK business.”

Senior appointments at Valeo

Moore’s appointment comes just three months after it was announced that former 2 Sisters Food Group chief executive Ronald Kers had been appointed group chief executive of Valeo Foods.

“I am thrilled that Valeo Foods has been able to attract a talent of the calibre of Kevin, and look forward to supporting his exciting plans for the future of the business and organisation in the UK,”​ said Kers.

Wayne Hudson who has been working closely with Valeo in the past few months to support the UK business, will hand over to Kevin and continue in an advisory capacity to Valeo Foods and Bain Capital going forward.

This week also saw German food company expand into the UK with the appointment of a new UK & Ireland country manager.

Paul Sloane joins yfood from vegan chocolate brand and German start-up Nucao, bringing over 20 years of food and drink retail experience.

Sloane said: “I’m really excited to join the yfood team and have admired the brand from my time working in Germany over the last 18 months. yfood meets a key consumer need to have a healthy, nutritious meal to hand when time is against you.

“It has captivated the German shopper and consumer and I am both honoured and excited to have the opportunity to bring this much needed solution to the UK population.”

Meanwhile, new senior appointments​ have been announced by Food Standards Scotland, Britvic and the Cold Chain Federation.
