A number of food recalls have happened over the last few weeks
Undeclared milk and soya, Salmonella, temperature failures and plastic pieces have driven the latest food recalls.

JK Foods has recalled its Tiger Tiger Taste Japan Mirin because it contains soya which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya. It impacts 150ml pack size with all date codes.

Big four retailer Tesco has recalled its Tesco Arrabbiata Sauce because it may contain milk which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.  The products affected are pack size 350g with a use by date on 02 March 2023. 

Temperature control

Discount supermarket chain Aldi has recalled its Plant Menu Organic Super Firm Tofu from certain stores because of a temperature control issue that could potentially spoil the product, which may be unsafe to eat. 

The issue only affects product sold at a limited number of Aldi stores in the Midlands. It affects the 200g packs of the product with the use by date of 13 April 2023 and 14 April 2023. 

Temperature control issues are also the reason that Tahira Foods is recalling a number of products, which specific batch codes.  Any of the products listed sold at Asda, Coop, Morrisons and/or Sainsbury's were not affected. 

The products recalled include Tahira Chilled Beef Sausage Hot and Spicy (Pack sizes 500g and 8 x 500g, batch codes 63479, 64318, 64167, 64678 and 64978). Tahira Chilled Chicken Sausage Piri Piri (500g and 8 x 500g  with batch codes 63479, 64318, 64399, 64978, 64678);  Tahira Chilled Chicken Sausage Tikka (500g and 8 x 500g with vatch codes: 63479, 64318, 64399, 64978, 64678); Tahira Turkey Chorizo (80g and 12 x 80g  with batch codes: 22300, 22363); Tahira Sliced Turkey Pizza Topping Salami (125g and 12 x 125g with batch 22300, 22363); Tahira Sliced Poultry Mortadella with Paprika (200g and 8x200g, batch codes: 64399, 64101); Tahira Chilled Mini Chicken Sausage (400g and 6 x 400g, Batch codes: 64338); Tahira Beef Salami (80g and 12x80g, Batch codes: 22363); Tahira Nabulsi Cheese (250g and 8 x 250g, Batch codes: 4811).

Salmonella

Meanwhile, discounter Lidl GB is recalling Deluxe Strolghino Salami because Salmonella has been found in the product. The affected product is 250g and a use by date of 13 Apr 2023 and 08 May 2023. Lidl has warned customers that symptoms caused by Salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps. 

Small pieces of plastic has seen Quorn Foods is recalling Frozen Quorn Swedish Style Balls. The company said the possible presence of plastic makes the product unsafe to eat and presents a potential choking hazard. This impacts the 300g packs that have a best before date of 30 September 2024.
