There are three finalists who will be in the running to win the top accolade of Bakery Manufacturing Company of the Year. Who will be crowned the winner of the category?

Baker & Baker

Baker & Baker is a European-wide bakery products manufacturer, with 12 manufacturing sites in seven countries, including four in the UK, where the business is headquartered. It manufactures a range of licensed white label and customer specific bakery products for the retail, food service and wholesale channels.

Last year, the company became a standalone bakery products manufacturer following the sale of its ingredients division (CSM Ingredients). It was officially launched as Baker & Baker in April 2021.

Baker & Baker has implemented a range of sustainability initiatives over the last year to reduce carbon emissions and was a founding signatory of WRAP’s water reduction roadmap.

Growth and expansion has been a key focus over the last year with the business investing significantly in growing its footprint across new markets in Europe and further afield. This includes the opening of a new office in Poland, and entry into new territories such as Israel and the UAE.

Ginger Bakers

Ginger Bakers is located in a purpose-built bakery, near Kendal, where owner Lisa Smith and her team create a range of cakes and bakes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Ginger Bakers has also worked hard to grow its overall customer relationships. It has established a stronger online presence, enhanced social media outputs to increase newsletter sign ups, provided cake recipes to the media for people to bake at home and formulated a range of partnerships with other local businesses to create specific cross selling retail products to build a broader loyalty base.

Regal Bakery

The growing company is adding a new 18,000 sq ft warehouse to its main site to keep up with UK and international demand.  A third bakery is also currently being developed which will allow not just for increased volumes but for further developments within its existing range as well as new product development.
