Madryn Foods launches new Welsh cheese crisps
Bwydydd Madryn (Madryn Foods) has teamed up with farmers’ cooperative South Caernarfon Creameries to create a new variety of all-Welsh cheese and onion crisps.
Launched under the popular Jones Crisps brand, they have been given “extra flavour and tang” thanks to the creamery’s award-winning Dragon cheddar.
The potatoes used to make the crisps are also Welsh and come from Anglesey, Pembrokeshire or Monmouthshire.
Madryn managing director Geraint Hughes said: “As well as creating a fantastic new addition to our range of Jones Crisps, we are passionate about promoting Welsh food and Welsh producers.
“From that point of view, working with South Caernarfon Creameries was a no-brainer and their brilliant Dragon cheddar provides the perfect flavouring.”
The Dragon Cheddar Cheese & Onion Crisps are the latest in a series of new products unveiled by Madryn who have opened new bases to cope with increasing demand in in Pwllheli and Llanrwst.
The Collective launches dairy-free yogurt for children
The Collective, the kids yoghurt brand, has entered the dairy-free sector with its ‘suckies’ range. The introduction of the new range is to addres the high demand for dairy-free options for children, the company said.
The plant-based products are made in the UK from a creamy oat & coconut yoghurt alternative, blended with real fruit. The ‘suckies’ are packed full of live cultures and calcium for strong bones and Vitamins D & B12 for immune support.
The product’s pouches are fully recyclable through the Enval pouch recycling scheme and at supermarket flexible plastic recycling bins..
The new dairy-free ‘suckies’ range will be available in two flavours, including strawberry and peach & apricot, and is set to launch across retailers nationwide in September.
Finlays launches tea and botanical powder blend range
Finlays, the B2B tea and coffee supplier, has launched a full solution for beverage brand owners looking to create convenient, healthy, and refreshing beverages for on-the-go consumption.
Just Add Water is a new range of tea and botanical powder blends that taps into consumer demand for beverages with associated functional benefits. Each blend is packaged in white label single-serve sachets and dissolves instantly in cold water.
The range features premium tea extracts from The Wellbeing Collection by Finlays which are rich in naturally derived bioactive compounds associated with functional and health benefits. The blends also support clean label claims by containing no added sugar, being low in calories, and free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives.
The four recipe blends have been fully developed according to key trends and are designed to align to morning, noon, evening and night-time use. They are immunity, antioxidant, energy and digestion.

New ice cream products for summer
A range of new ice cream product launches have been made for summer.
Extrême Cookie Cones are made entirely from oven baked cookies. The cookie cones are made of real cookie dough which is oven baked, formed into a crunchy cookie cone and then filled with smooth ice cream. They are available in three ice cream flavours: rich caramel, creamy vanilla and smooth hazelnut, all topped with cookie chunks, chocolate swirls and caramel sauce.
Nuii has launched its New York Cookies & Cream which consists of crushed chocolate cookies and folded generously through indulgent and creamy ice cream encased in premium milk chocolate combining more cookie crumbles.
While the new Cadbury Darkmilk is a creamy vanilla ice cream with the richest creamiest chocolate centre, encased in an intense, smooth chocolate coating with a rich full flavour. The Cadbury Darkmilk ice is designed to appeal to the adults in the household, satisfying the desire to taste a darker, richer chocolate.
