Typhoo appoints Clipper Teas co-founder as chairman
The co-founder of Clipper Teas led the company to become reportedly the UK’s first Fairtrade tea company and the world’s largest producer of Fairtrade tea.
Brehme has also spent time in a number of advisory roles across the food and drink industry and director for Nature Works Brands and non-executive director of Spanish food company Brindisa.
Des Kingsley, chief executive of Typhoo Tea, said: “Mike is as passionate about tea as we are. His depth of experience and knowledge of our category have already proven extremely beneficial.

Brehme joins the business following a restructure in 2021 that saw Zetland Capital, a London based Private Equity firm, become a majority shareholder and Abercross expand its shareholding.
In December that same year, Typhoo announced the appointment of Rocío Ortiz as Responsible Sourcing Manager and the engagement of Lesley Western as Corporate Social Responsibility Consultant.
‘National treasure’

Meanwhile, plant-based milk brand Mighty has appointed Marcus Pattison as its finance and operations director.
