Foodservice provider Fairfax Meadow has opened its new facility in Enfield, London.

The new purpose-built facility has been built for the London foodservice market. Part of Fairfax Meadow’s development programme, it follows the opening of the new Fairfax Meadow site in Milton Keynes, which will allow Fairfax London to dedicate its focus to hotels, restaurants and bars in the capital. The Fairfax London site in Enfield replaces the Kentish Town site, which closed earlier this month.

Penny Tomlinson, Fairfax Meadow managing director, said: “We are delighted to open Fairfax London, our site dedicated to serve the London hospitality industry. The new facility is a significant step for Fairfax Meadow. It is the next stage of our planned £2m investment that ensures we continue to lead the industry in product quality and service.

“London is a vibrant hospitality market, with world-class chefs, restaurants and diverse cuisines that we are proud to serve. Many food trends originate in London and our new site will ensure that we continue to supply the city with class-leading products that help chefs bring those trends to the table.”

Fairfax Meadow sales director Chris Gadd added: “Fairfax London will feature a number of new facilities designed with customers’ needs uppermost in our minds. The state-of-the-art maturation facilities feature the most up-to-date humidity and airlock controls. Our Himalayan salt wall will ensure even greater consistency in dry-aged products, including our Casterbridge West Country PGI beef.

“Our 45-year heritage comes from our solid reputation in the London market. Our team understands what it takes to meet the unique demands of hospitality businesses in London. Our Enfield site will allow us to offer more to customers, including greater handling capacity; a development suite; a butchery training kitchen for chefs, as well as accompanying meeting space. We will, of course, continue to offer our award-winning burgers and sausages, as well as our specialist banqueting service.”
