KP Snacks has appointed Kevin McNair to the role of marketing director, effective from 29 October.

He joins the snack producer from drinks firm Britvic, where had previously served as market director for its operations in Britain.

During his time with Britvic, McNair was instrumental in turning around the Robinsons and J2O brands, as well as relaunching Purdey’s and R Whites.

McNair has also held positions with Unilever in both domestic and international roles with its foods and spreads divisions, having begun his career with Whitbread in field sales.

Promotion

He replaces Jeff Sawn, who was promoted within the Intersnack Group to the position of managing director of Largo Foods in May.

Commenting on his appointment, McNair said: “I am thrilled to be joining KP Snacks. They have a great portfolio of brands, a fantastic culture where they really value their people, and their acquisition strategy highlighted their desire to drive their growth agenda even more. I cannot wait to get started.”

KP Snacks is a UK subsidiary of the European Intersnack Group, which produces the McCoys, Hula Hoops and KP ranges of snack brands.

McNair’s appointment comes less than a month after it announced plans to create 20 jobs as part of a £6m investment into a new pellet production facility at its Billingham factory in Teesside.
