Engineering equipment specialist GEA has strengthened its market position as provider of kit to the beverage processing sector with the acquisition of the Slovenian machine manufacturer Vipoll, which makes a range of filling equipment for soft drinks, beer and fresh dairy products.

The company, which is a specialist in blowing and filling processes in aseptic as well as all sensitive beverage segments – especially for polyethylene terephthalate and high density polyethylene bottles – will now be able to fill beverages that do not require sterile processing into glass bottles, cans and plastic containers.

Vipoll supplies mainly filling machines and components for beverage processing lines, including pasteurisers, mixers, carbonating and capping systems, as well as conveyor, bottle cleaning and clean-in-place technologies.

The company also builds complete lines for beverage processing, including for breweries, wineries and soft drink specialists in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia.
