A new cloud-based food composition database that enables manufacturers to monitor the nutritional content of products has been set up by Nutritional Information Solutions (NIS).

The platform allows food businesses to track recipe development and operating procedures, nutritional and allergen data, menu cost analysis, and all food safety requirements.

The software, provided by Nutritics, can support Trading Standards and associated organisations to ensure information on food labels is accurate and informative.

NIS Nutritics is also the first system under evaluation for accreditation by the European Food Information Resource.

Norfolk-based NIS is a division of QIB Extra – a subsidiary of Quadram Institute Bioscience.
