Lomond – owner of bakery Cake – has acquired wholesale food distribution business Hall’s Direct, in a deal that will boost Lomond’s annual turnover to more than £30M.

The acquisition will increase Lomond’s staff numbers from 104 to 160, with its fleet of dual-temperature delivery vehicles growing from 21 to 40.

Lomond will gain access to Hall’s foodservice customers. The acquisition positioned the company for further growth into the convenience and retail sectors.

Md Sam Henderson said the acquisition was the start of the next chapter in the evolution of the company.
