Morrisons and Tulip launch TGI Fridays-branded products
Tulip is launching sous vide barbecue-style products for Morrisons under the TGI Fridays brand, which are designed to enable shoppers to recreate the restaurant group's dishes quickly and conveniently at home.

The three initial chilled lines will consist of Slow Cooked Barbacoa Pulled Beef Tortilla Wrap Kit, Slow Cooked Rack of Ribs with a Tennessee Bourbon BBQ Glaze and Slow Cooked Chicken Wings and Pork Ribs Selection Pack.

The range will be available from 23 April in 300 Morrisons stores across the UK with a recommended retail price of £4.50.

Designed to capitalise on the growing consumer demand for sous vide (slow-cooked) products with a strong flavour content, the new TGI Fridays offering is aimed at busy consumers. Working on a range of TGI Fridays retail products was the idea of sales collaboration partner HFR Foods.

Restaurant-quality

HFR commercial director Graeme Clapp said: "Consumers want restaurant-quality meals at home without the hassle. For the past four years the sous vide market has grown at an incredibly fast pace and by developing a range with a much-loved brand like TGI Fridays, we hope to continue to excite fans of the brand and attract new consumers along the way.

"Our new range really delivers a 'full-on taste of America' and is designed to capitalise on the great appeal that TGI Fridays offers its customers."

Tulip said additional lines, Slow Cooked Pulled Pork with a Sweet & Smokey BBQ Glaze and Slow Cooked King Ribs with a Sweet Honey BBQ Glaze, would be introduced over the coming months.

Food solutions

Tulip Ltd is the country's leading consumer food solutions business, with 16 fresh and cooked meat sites across the UK, employing around 7,000 people.

The company is owned by The Danish Crown group, which is the largest pork producer in Europe and the biggest exporter of pork in the world.

Tulip is listed in the Sunday Times Inward Investment Track 50. The new league table recognises the important role overseas-headquartered multinationals employing the most people in the UK play in the economy.
