A new range of post-baking dryers aimed at smaller bakeries producing biscuits and crackers, has been introduced by the Radio Frequency Company.

The new Bantam-Series Macrowave post-baking dryers from the US-based company have been designed for up to one-metre-wide bands producing 1,364kg of product an hour or less.

The dryers require no external plant cooling and no heavy electrical overhead lines or ‘drops’. With fewer components and a simple yet robust design, the capital and maintenance costs are claimed to be greatly reduced.

The dryers are said to be capable of boosting throughput capacities by 30% or more, while also eliminating checking and over-colouring problems.
