A 70-strong branded range comprising products from most of the main ingredients groups is to be rolled out throughout the year by Direct Food Ingredients (DFI).

The Blue Diamond range, which comprises gums and stabilisers, artificial and natural sweeteners, vitamins, amino acids, preservatives and acidulants, will initially launch with a small selection of products.

The range will increase to 30 by March, and all 70 products will be available by the end of the year.

Distributed throughout Europe

It will be distributed throughout Europe and North America, and comes with a full audit trail. Kosher and Halal certificates are available for relevant products.

Steve Loake, md at DFI, said the company has had a “tremendous response” to its latest innovations.

“DFI has worked hard to become accredited by the most stringent of industry bodies, and this is testament to our quality assurance procedures and meticulously-monitored supply chain, which involves us regularly visiting our [suppliers’] factories overseas as part of our audit trail,” he added.

First products available

The first products to be made available include potassium sorbate, sorbic acid, xanthan gum, citric acid monohydrate, citric acid anhydrous, trisodium citrate, pea protein, creatine, monosodium glutamate, dextrose monohydrate and maltodextrin.

DFI was forecast to generate £16M in sales in 2016, up by £2.3M on the previous year.
