Grinders and mixers that are claimed to produce a clearly defined, ground product with minimal ‘overworking’ for meat products, such as burgers, are available from Interfood Technology. 

The mixers run pre-programmed cycles, ensuring the correct amount of protein release and binding to eliminate delamination during cooking.

Interfood is the exclusive distributor in the UK and Ireland for a number of manufacturers, which supply equipment ranging from standard items to bespoke automated process lines.

They include K&G Wetter, which makes small to heavy-duty pre-grinding of raw materials as well as mixing and mixer/grinding systems, in-line fat analysis and small to heavy-duty bowl chopping with the option of vacuum.

Another supplier is Inotec, which makes vacuum mixing and technical application mixing equipment. It also provides heavy-duty emulsifying systems, high-speed and natural casing link cutting, and in-line fat analysis, together with software to control, monitor and record the entire process.
