As a supplier of inks to the food industry and a member of the European Printing Inks Association (EuPIA), Domino Printing Sciences has signed up to the code of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), which since March 1 2016, all EuPIA members have been expected to comply with.

The code covers key areas such as ink composition, supply chain and manufacturing quality systems as well as selling and application design process.

The GMP’s key objective is to assist in controlling food safety hazards in the design and manufacture of inks for food contact materials, such as packaging.

Domino Printing Sciences says it is fully committed to achieving GMP, ensuring standards are maintained and that all of its products follow established EuPIA guidelines.

It also provides guidance to customers on issues such as chemical migration and the suitability of inks in different food applications, for example direct and non-direct food contact.
