Food and drink products that are innovative, natural, organic and nutritional will take centre stage at the inaugural Healthy & Natural Show to at Chicago’s Navy Pier between May 5-7, 2016.

Organised by William Reed, the publisher of, the new show will bring together retailers and manufacturers to showcase emerging trends and up and coming food and drink brands and more established firms.

The event is designed to highlight local and national healthy brands across six distinct categories: food, beverage, supplements, pet products, household products and personal care.

Focusing on product accessibility in the under-represented Midwest region, companies making healthier product options will have a local platform to display products. The event will include seminars to update show goers on the latest developments in this fast moving sector.

Unique educational approach

William Reed’s general manager, North America, Len Monheit told the event would take a unique educational approach​.

“We’re in an age where consumers have just as much access to information as those retailers with whom they shop,” ​said Monheit.

“We’re going to newly empower our retail community, by giving them an intimate show experience to leverage this new knowledge and then give them access to an exhibitor base filled with leaders and disrupters ​[innovators].”

The show will begin with an educational series to demystify topics such as non-genetically modified organisms, probiotics, supplement labels and views on how to define ‘natural.’ See other topics in the list below.

Market value of $48bn

Natural and organic food is the fastest-growing sector of the American food marketplace – with a current market value of $48bn (£33.81bn).

The Healthy & Natural Show will help food and drink innovators, influencers and key decision makers create an opportunity for retailers to better understand the high growth opportunities within the natural and organic sectors.

“Most consumers are increasingly choosing healthier and more natural products,”​ said Monheit.

“Our plan is to provide access to these products for more retailers, with supporting education about both the products themselves and the consumer drivers behind the movement.”
