Enzymotec unveils phosphatidylserine-based sports enhancer
Produced using Enzymotec's proprietary Sharp PS ingredient, which contains PS extracted from soy, EnzySport is claimed to deliver benefits to athletes taking part in strenuous sporting activities.
PS has previously been shown to increase the time it takes athletes to become exhausted, to cut recovery times and to reduce muscle soreness.

In Kingsley et al’s paper published in the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise 2006, it was found that cyclists using PS could ride for 30% longer before reaching exhaustion, compared with those taking a placebo.
In a separate study conducted by the authors in 2005, participants simulated the playing of soccer by undertaking intermittent running exercises. It was found that general soreness levels recorded after exercise were 50% higher in the placebo group, compared with the group taking PS.
In all studies, PS has been shown to be safe with no side effects noted.

Sharp PS is easy to use in product applications, including supplements, beverages and dairy drinks, Katz added.
