GEA has acquired hygienic pump supplier Hilge in a move designed to strengthen its position in the hygienic and aseptic process environments.

The products from Hilge until now part of the Grundfos Group will now be marketed under the brand GEA Hilge. Together with GEA Tuchenhagen pumps, the GEA Hilge products will constitute the business area GEA Hygienic Pumps.

Hilge, based in Bodenheim in Germany, specialises in products that include stainless steel centrifugal pumps. GEA, with its expertise in the food and beverages industry, will represent a strong strategic partner for Hilge.

“With the acquisition of Hilge, we can fill technological gaps and continue to complement our product portfolio toward providing complete process steps,” says GEA chief executive Jürg Oleas.

“As a result, we can offer a greater variety of services to our customers in the future, in particular in the food and beverage industry.”
