Compact inspection system for weight and labels
Offering accurate weight measurement and high-performance label inspection in one compact machine, the system helps minimise product rework, retrieval and recovery, ensures accurate product weight, while complying with legislation.
“Modern day production line speeds can typically produce hundreds, if not thousands, of wrongly labelled products before the defects are detected,” says Mettler-Toledo CI-Vision European market manager Dr Richard Reisbig.
“Relabelling or repackaging products are costly in terms of time, labour and production downtime. If the production line has automatic secondary packaging, wrongly labelled products [commonly called ‘label mix-up’] may be automatically packaged and sent to retailers.”
He adds: “Until this launch, manufacturers had to integrate two separate systems or customise product inspection solutions to both inspect for label mix-up and checkweigh their products.”
