Easy open flexible package agreement covers ‘bubble in the seal’

Flexible barrier packaging specialist Flextrus has announced a cooperation agreement with PopPack, under which new ‘bubble in the seal’ stechnologies will be introduced to easy open flexible packages. The innovation is based on the concept of using a bubble with air as a lever to open packages when the bubble is popped.

“This is a bright new world for easy open packaging,” says Ronny Gimbe, business development manager at Flextrus. “PopPack’s technologies will broaden Flextrus’s product offering with additional alternatives for consumer convenient packaging.

“We look forward to working with new and existing customers to implement these new easy open packaging features for consumer market opportunities in Scandinavia and Europe.”

The PopPack approach is suitable for consumer products packed in pouches and thermoformed packages, flexible as well as semi-rigid. The packages are easy to open and can be combined with a reclosing feature, which eliminates the need for scissors, knives or teeth to open flexible packages.
