German frozen food manufacturer Jütro Tiefkühlkost has installed a bespoke packing line from Ishida to handle the weighing, sealing and checkweighing of individually quick frozen (IQF) ready meals.

The line comprises a 20-head Ishida CCW-RV multi-head weigher, QX-1100 Flex tray sealer and DACS-G checkweigher, filling a variety of different tray sizes at speeds of up to 70 a minute. This has delivered a 40% greater yield in comparison with the company's older tray sealing line, resulting in a fast payback on investment.

The multi-head weigher is able to weigh three different products – meat, vegetables and rice or pasta – simultaneously for discharge into the trays. The RV model combines speed and accuracy with a robust design. Its heavy duty contact surfaces ensure minimal product adherence, while the weigher is certified to IP69K waterproof protection.

Ishida will be showcasing its snacks packaging capabilities at a series of open house events taking place at its UK manufacturing headquarters at Woodgate, Birmingham, from November 17–27.

During the open house events, new machine models and software enhancements, specifically designed for snack packing applications, will be unveiled in Ishida's dedicated snacks demonstration area.
