Cereal thieves have stolen a lorry trailer packed with 9t of Kellogg’s breakfast bars worth about £45,000.

The thieves took the snack-filled articulated trailer from a lorry park near Lockerbie in Scotland at about 2.30am on Thursday (October 8).

Police believe the offenders may have carried out surveillance and research in the area while planning the high-value theft.

‘High-value’ theft

The lorry trailer, which police said had “red Currys livery”, was stolen from Lockerbie Lorry Park just outside the village of Johnstonebridge.

Detective constable Martin Lumsden, from Police Scotland CID, said “We are currently carrying out investigations into what is a high-value theft which has obviously involved an element of planning.

“We are reviewing CCTV footage and want to hear from anyone who may have been in or around the area of the lorry park around the time of this theft, or indeed the hours and days prior to the theft as those responsible may have been in area carrying out some form of reconnaissance and planning.”

Anyone with information should call 101.
