Belgian waffle maker packs faster with spider robots
Belgian waffle house Biscuiterie Thijs is using six Fanuc delta M-2iA robots to pack its products at a rate that ensures over 150 more waffles a minute are handled than can be achieved manually.

Automation of packaging at the bakery, which began operating as a family business in 1976 in the Flemish province of Herentals, was carried out in 2013 to meet growing demand from retailers such as Aldi, Lidl, Carrefour and Jumbo for the company's sugar, vanilla, chocolate coated, soft or crispy waffles.

With more than 100 models, Fanuc offers a wide range of robots covering payloads of up to 1.7t and maximum reaches up to 4,683mm.
