Food Manufacture journalist wins top award
Food Manufacture deputy editor Robinson won the coveted Features journalist of the year in WRBM’s internal awards last Friday (June 19).
The winning features covered profiles of the bosses of gluten-free specialist Genius and the National Farmers Union. His third winning article was an interview with chief executive of Adnams brewery. Read more about the winning articles below.
‘Maintain the reader’s attention’
WRBM judges Mark Wingett, editor of M&C Report and Stefan Chomka, editor of Restaurant and former assistant editor of Food Manufacture, praised Robinson’s versatility. “Our winner demonstrated a great ability to maintain the reader’s attention across a number of differing subjects,” said the judges.
“Drawing out new detail, interspersed with key facts and providing a sense that every angle had been covered. He also demonstrated a fine quality in being able to tell the story of his feature even under space constraints. His features were engaging, educational and diverse.”

Runner up was Joe Lutrario of Restaurant.
