Snack salad and vegetable manufacturer Freshtime has appointed Amanda Turner as its new product development manager.

Turner joins from Grimsby seafood manufacturer Icelandic Seachill.

Before this she has worked in management roles at the Northern Foods, the Daniels Group, Saladworks and Solway Foods.

In her new role she will manage a team of four technologists and one chef at the Boston-based firm.

Turner said: “I was at Northern Foods for 11 years and that’s where I discovered my love of food product development.

‘Great opportunities to progress’

“I went into my career straight after my A-levels. I didn’t know what I wanted to do but I really enjoyed my first job in the food industry and I’ve been lucky enough to be given some great opportunities to progress.”

Meanwhile, Freshtime also appointed Michelle Torinsci as its new development technologist.

Torinsci, who joins from Bakkavor subsidiary Cucina Sano, previously worked as a cook for the National Health Service and ran her own food retail business.
