Posh ready meal manufacturer Charlie Bigham’s has appointed Paul Whyte as its new operations director to help build on its sales growth of 60% year-on-year for the last quarter.

Whyte will bring almost 20 years’ experience to the role, gained at Greencore, Molson Coors and cake firm Elisabeth the Chef.

Charlie Bigham’s now employs over 200 people at its west London production facility and is forecasting exciting growth for the year ahead.

The firm’s founder, Charlie Bigham, said Whyte’s appointment indicated a push in the business’s ambition to attract and develop the very best people in every area of the company and to build on the food skills of the kitchen production team.

‘Valuable expertise’

“He brings valuable expertise to the company and a great set of values,” Bigham added. “I am looking forward to his input as we continue to develop, grow and take the brand forward. Whyte is passionate about food and people and will be a great addition to our team."

Charlie Bigham’s has recently extended its range in Sainsbury, adding six new recipes from May 21 2014, which follows extending its presence in Sainsbury’s Locals last November.

The firm also recently launched six new recipes with Waitrose, with early sales of the new dishes exceeding forecasted sales by 30%, the firm claimed.
