Young’s Seafood has appointed Frank Green as its new sales director for its frozen retail business.

Green, who is currently category director for fresh seafood at Morrisons, will start the role on April 7 2014.

Before joining Morrisons in 2009, he held a number of senior sales roles across the frozen and chilled categories of Young’s.

‘Huge asset to the company’

Wayne Hudson, md for Young’s frozen food division, said: “I am pleased that we have managed to attract someone of Green’s calibre. His all-round experience and passion for seafood will be a huge asset to our company.”

Green will take over from Liam Pickup, who will leave Young’s at the end of May to pursue other career opportunities.

Hudson said: “Pickup joined Young’s in 2011. During this time, he has been instrumental in building the competitiveness of our frozen brand. I would like to thank him for all his efforts and contribution to our business over the past three years and wish him well in his future career.”

Meanwhile, earlier this month, Young’s ceo Leendert de Hollander quit the business after four years with the firm.
