Real Good Food appoints new boss for its dairy business

The Real Good Food Company (RGFC) has appointed Andy Birkett as the new md for its dairy ingredients firm Garrett Ingredients, with effect from January 20 2014.

Birkett will bring a “wealth of operational and commercial experience”​ to the role gained most recently at 2 Sisters Food Group.

Before this he also held roles at Milk Link and Kraft Foods’ hot dog and bacon business Oscar Meyer.

Gareth Silcox has also been appointed as business development director at Garret Ingredients.

Extensive experience

He will bring extensive experience to the role gained at Dairy Crest and First Milk and as a director of London Dairy Trading, said the firm.

Pieter Totté, RGFC executive chairman, said: “I am delighted to welcome Andy and Gareth to our fast expanding Garrett Ingredients business and wish them both well in their new roles with us. Their appointments continue the re-shaping of our overall group structure, as we seek to maximise the potential of all five trading businesses within the group.”

RGFC’s other businesses are sugar distributor Napier Brown, bakery ingredients firms R&W Scott and Renshaw and patisserie and deserts firm Haydens Bakery.
