Quicker decision making and more flexible business approaches are the two key benefits being enjoyed at Enfield-based Snowbird Foods in the wake of a management buyout.

That’s the view of joint md Philip Paul who took control of the manufacturer of fully cooked and frozen sausages and other meat products alongside former finance chief Albert McGovern in April.

In this exclusive podcast for FoodManufacture.co.uk, Paul outlined how it was previous owner Vion’s decision to focus on its core European markets that triggered off the events that would lead to the buyout.

Paul spoke candidly about how big a decision it was to take the business on and reflected on the complexities of getting the financial arrangements in place.

Now that hurdle had been overcome, however, he said the firm was reaping the benefits of quicker decision making as it sought to expand.

Listen to the podcast to hear what the firm’s plans for the future are and to find out Paul’s advice for anyone else tempted to go down the management buyout route.
