Clean-label ingredients supplier Ulrick & Short has appointed Jon Arzberger as its new business development manager.

Arzberger, who has over a decade of experience in the food manufacturing sector, will be responsible for promoting Ulrick & Short’s range of clean-label non-genetically modified (non-GM) starches, proteins, fibres and flours to food technologists and product developers worldwide.

He joins from chemical distributor Azelis UK Life Sciences where he had held a number of sales and management roles since 2010.

‘Significant experience’

Ulrick & Short said that Arzberger’s “significant experience” had stood him in good stead when preparing test recipes as part of his induction.

“I would be amazed if anyone could open their kitchen cupboards and not find at least one of the brands with which Jon has previously worked,” said Ulrick & Short director Adrian Short. “We are very pleased to have Jon on board as his experience and technical skillset will perfectly enhance our existing team of hard working and talented professionals.”

Arzberger added he “could not wait” to start his new role.

“Ulrick & Short is very well known as a leading British starch specialist and I’ve been aware of the company and its ingredients for some time now. It has such an excellent reputation in the industry that I could not wait to be part of the team,” said Arzberger.
