New olive leaf extract 'clinically proven' to provide health benefits
Frutarom says its new olive leaf extract, Benolea, is "clinically proven" to provide the reported cardiovascular health-support benefits of the Mediterranean diet.

The olive leaf contains the key compounds of oleuropein and polyphenols. Frutarom says oleuropein has proven blood pressure-lowering effects, and acts in synergy with the other phytochemicals in Benolea's multi-component system.

In a recent clinical trial, researchers compared Benolea's efficacy with that of a blood pressure-lowering pharmaceutical in subjects with mildly elevated blood pressure. It proved to be efficient in lowering elevated blood-pressure levels and positively influenced the lipid profile, while being safe and well-tolerated, according to the manufacturer.

"This and other proprietary research studies support Benolea's position as a natural ingredient for heart health," says Frutarom Health's product manager Yannick Capelle. "It reflects the essence of the Mediterranean diet, delivering cardiovascular health benefits in an all-in-one ingredient."

The use of the patented manufacturing technology, EFLA HyperPure, guarantees a high degree of purity, solubility and improved stability.

Benolea is water-soluble and can be used in dietary supplements and food and drink applications.
