Sustainability and convenience will be key themes at Nicholl Food's Packaging stand at Pro2Pac 2013 (March 17-20), as the firm showcases its 'eco-friendly' hybrid format and further additions to its aluminium tray ranges.

The firm says its aluminium trays enjoy a very positive environmental profile because they are made from a permanent material that is 100% and infinitely recyclable. It will show a number of recently launched smoothwall and wrinklewall varieties, including liddable smoothwall variants with integrated handles for added convenience in placing trays into and removing them from the oven,

The new eco-friendly trays feature a hybrid board and plastic construction with the board sourced from renewable wood, offering food manufacturers a more sustainable alternative to plastics for a wide variety of products such as fresh ready to cook meals and cooked meats.

Another highlight will be the Saica Form trays manufactured in clean-room conditions in corrugated board from 100% recycled paper.

Nicholl's ovenable board tray range offers a leak-proof pack suitable for a variety of chilled and frozen applications. For ease of use, the trays remain rigid and cool to the touch during both microwave and conventional cooking conditions. In addition, the trays have now been confirmed by as being widely recycled.
