Meadow Cheese has appointed Michael Harte as its new md.

David Smyth was the previous md on secondment from the Irish Dairy Board (IDB), but left at the end of 2012.

Harte has been promoted from his role as commercial director, which he has held for the past six years.

Before this he was supply chain director for Europe at global food manufacturer Griffith Laboratories for four years. He also held various food industry roles within commercial, purchasing and supply chain.

Continue the growth

Commenting on his appointment, Harte said:  “I am looking forward to guiding the company in the future, forging close working relationships with customers to continue the growth that Meadow Cheese has experienced over the recent years.”

Eoin O’Callaghan will take over as commercial director from March 4. O’Callaghan joins from the IDB where he has been for the past eight years.

Meadow Cheese is a subsidiary of the IDB, the Irish owned Dairy Co-operative.
