UK government is ‘anti-organic’: bakery boss

The UK government is anti-organic and is therefore failing “to promote its benefits” to the public, the boss of an organic and free-from bakery has claimed.

Lise Madsen, md at Honeyrose Bakery in London, made the remarks in this exclusive video, filmed at Food Manufacture​’s Business Leaders' forum in central London.

Madsen, whose products are stocked in Waitrose and Sainsbury, explained what she wanted the government to do to promote the “farming, environmental and nutritional benefits”​ of organic.

Madsen also discussed why the UK organic market is the only in Europe that isn’t growing – something she doesn’t put down to price, “because it’s more expensive in Europe too”.
