Duerr’s appoints Sharpe to board
England’s oldest jam maker, Duerr’s has appointed Clive Sharpe as the first non-executive to its board in a bid to consolidate on-going growth in the spreads and preserve sector.

Sharpe brings over 30-years food manufacturing experience to the role, covering both branded and private label products spanning multiple sectors.

Previously this included chief operating officer of Golden Wonder and ethnic and speciality foods supplier WT Foods, moving up to chairman, non-executive director of snack food manufacturer Largo Foods and also Chairman of Burtons Biscuits.

‘Privileged’

He is currently chairman of Quorn Foods and pastry manufacturer Peters Foods, which he will retain.

Mark Duerr, md of Duerr’s said: “We are privileged to have Clive on our board. He is bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge, joining the company at an exciting time in its evolution. As the grocery trade becomes more and more competitive his skills will be invaluable as we maximise opportunities for growth.”

Commenting on his role, Sharpe said: “Duerr’s is a brand and a business with a great sense of family traditions and values, constantly innovating in product, quality and packaging to service its customer’s needs. I am joining a company that loves to challenge the status quo and I can’t wait to match my experience with that ambition.”
