Philippe Huet has been appointed the new md for Cargill’s Cocoa business.

Huet, who has 17 years’ experience at Cargill, takes over from Harold Poelma, who will take up the role of md of Cargill Refined Oils Europe.

Since joining Cargill in 1995, Huet has held various managerial positions across the company, including commercial director for the cocoa division since 2005.

Most recently he oversaw the successful integration of German chocolate manufacturer Kakao Verarbeitung Berlin into Cargill’s Cocoa & Chocolate business, which made the firm the second largest chocolate producer in Europe.

“Best possible service”

Commenting on his new role, Huet said: “I am very much looking forward to my new role. Focusing on our customers will be a particular priority for me, ensuring we provide them with best possible service, and with the support necessary for them to develop innovative solutions for their business.”

Jos de Loor, president, Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate, said: “I would like to welcome Philippe to his new role. We are looking forward to working with him and ensuring that our business continues to go from strength to strength.”
