An investigation has begun into the cause of a fire at food manufacturer 2 Sisters’ site in Scunthorpe on Monday, August 27.

Firefighters were called to the poultry supplier’s site on Ram Boulevard at 11.14am.

A spokesman for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service told FoodManufacture.co.uk that two dry powder fire extinguishers were used to tackle the fire in an electrical substation.

The fire team recorded that the fire had been brought under control by 13.56pm.

Confined to a switch room

A spokeswoman for 2 Sisters said: “The site was evacuated and the fire service extinguished the fire, which was confined to a switch room.

“There were no injuries, no damage to the factory production areas and minimal disruption.”
