Microencapsulation offers new opportunities

Related tags Vitamin

LycoRed Israel has launched microencapsulated formulations for hair and nail nutrition, which it claims will expand options for manufacturers. The products are based on vitamin B complex and amino acids.

Combining different nutrients with organoleptic properties in dietary supplements is not always easy because undesired aromas or flavours can often be part of the result, which is what happens with vitamin B1 and methionine, for example. LycoRed says its technology can mask the unwanted effects of the process. "With our advanced microencapsulation technology, it's possible to mask negative odours and tastes in 'beauty-from-within' products that help maintain the vitality of hair and nails," explains Karina Bedrack, sales manager for LycoRed. "The biggest challenge with vitamin B is being able to offer an odourless product and we've now overcome this."
