The goal is to aid the creation of cost-optimised beverages that meet consumer demand for exotic juice drinks.

The freshly squeezed texture is popular with consumers but fruit pulp is vulnerable to price fluctuations. National Starch says its low-cost-in-use texturiser, Precisa Pulp 02 can replace it, while conferring all-important pulpiness and stability for a longer shelf-life.

Mona Rademacher, European marketing, beverages, National Starch Food Innovation, comments: "Exotic fruit juice flavours, such as guava, apricot and mango, are very popular among consumers in the Middle East and pear-flavoured beverages hit the mark with European consumers as they have a local, home-grown appeal. We are delighted to be able to offer manufacturers the chance to meet these demands, helping them create cost-effective beverages with the consistent quality, texture and flavour desired by consumers."
