Food Manufacture magazine, the sister publication of FoodManufacture.co.uk, has been redesigned to meet the needs of 21st century food and drink industry professionals.

The structure and layout has been redesigned to make navigation easier and to reflect the changing ways readers access information. Content has been separated into three key sections: ingredients and new product development; manufacturing and supply chain and packaging.

The magazine’s editor Rick Pendrous said: “The new design fits in with the information revolution and how busy professionals want to access key business information to help them run their businesses more effectively.”

The new-look magazine capitalises on the strengths of the print medium while bringing a flavour of its sister website onto the printed page.

“Our readers value Food Manufacture for its news analysis and in depth features such as Me and My Factory and the Big Interview,” said Pendrous. High quality photographs and penetrating interviews bring business challenges and successes alive on the printed page.

The restyled magazine also delivers a flavour of the hard news published daily by its sister website FoodManufacture.co.uk. Each month, the magazine analyses the biggest news stories from web and reports some of the lively debate among readers that this coverage inspires.

It highlights too our new online audio and video content, linked to features within the magazine, that brings you not only the news but the faces and voices of the people who make that news.

30 years a journalist, Pendrous said that the need for key independent information, both online and in print, about the UK food and drink manufacturing sector has never been greater.

Food and beverage manufacturers, with their £72.3bn turnover, represent the single largest manufacturing sector in Britain today. They need high quality information, both in form of breaking news and news analysis, to help them take informed business decisions.

“The sector faces a bright future but some key challenges too – not least remedying the worrying skills shortage.”

Whatever the changes that lie ahead, Food Manufacture magazine, its complementary website FoodManufacture.co.uk and our full events programme will remain your number one stop for independent news and views on the fast changing world of UK food and drink manufacturing.
