Healthier margarine has less saturated fat

Bakery ingredients supplier CSM UK has reduced the saturated fat content of its cake margarine.

Craigmillar Marvello RSF Blend cake margarine contains 25g of saturated fat per 100g. Compared with standard Craigmillar Marvello, this is at least a 10% reduction. CSM says bakers using the new product will not usually need to adjust their recipes to stay within the government guidelines, they can make the same cakes as before – but with a healthier profile.

“Melting instantly in the mouth but remaining firm at room temperature, its characteristics remain unchanged.​
