Kent’s Kitchen launches ready meal kits
Jardox md Alex Gardener has launched a new online company selling ready meal kits using his firm's existing production facilities.

However, Kent’s Kitchen’s is being run separately from Sevenoaks-based Jardox (which specialises in ingredients) and has employed four new staff; its offerings include Thai green curry, vindaloo, rogan josh and various risottos.

Kent’s Kitchen’s kits (one is pictured) include three pots, containing infused oil, paste and herbs or spices, to which the consumer adds ingredients such as vegetables, protein and rice.

Online sales focus

Gardener told FoodManufacture.co.uk that Kent’s Kitchen’s would focus primarily on direct sales to consumers, rather than retail or wholesale, but declined to discuss any sales projections for the first 12 months of trading.

Gardener, who has invested in the firm with a sleeping partner, said the venture reflected his passion for home-cooking with all-natural ingredients.

Kent's Kitchen also offers a range of marinades, stocks, gravies, salts, peppers, herbs and spices for sale online, with it says are all free from additives and flavour enhancers.
