Details are emerging about what the government’s new Public Health Responsibility Deal will expect from industry.


The Department of Health (DoH), which has now taken over responsibility for this from the Food Standards Agency, has published the deal's highlights on its web site. The deal will be launched over the next few months.

At Food Manufacture's 'Reformulation conference' in London on February 8, Dr Clair Baynton, deputy director of nutrition science and delivery health and wellbeing, DoH, will outline the changes. Other speakers include: Barbara Gallani, director, food safety and science, Food and Drink Federation; Helen Munday, director scientific & regulatory affairs, Coca-Cola; Sara Collie, nutrition business partner, Kellogg; Dr Tristan Robinson, company nutritionist, HJ Heinz; and Professor Judith Buttriss, director general, British Nutrition Foundation.
