Logistics firm gets organic certification

Culina Logistics has received the Soil Association’s Organic Certification of Registration.

The Soil Association makes the accreditation to any organisation that is involved in the processing, packing or selling, breaking down, repacking, trading, distributing or re-labelling of organic food.

This means firms working with Culina's depots can substantiate claims that its products are certified organic and can be traced back to sustainable sources.

Culina chief executive Thomas van Mourik said: "Until recently, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs did not require organisations that stored or distributed organic products on behalf of a third party to hold the Soil Association's organic certification. Recognising the change in the law, we have worked hard to secure the accreditation."
