Is open innovation just a fancy term to describe what manufacturers have been doing for years, or is it genuinely changing how (and how fast) new products get to market?

FoodManufacture.co.uk caught up with GSK's open innovation champion Paul Isherwood at the Food and Drink Innovation Network's Open Innovation Conference to find out why he thinks collaborating more effectively with external partners could help double sales at GSK's Nutritional Healthcare business in the next five years.

Paul is director of innovation, external networks and partnering at GlaxoSmithKline's Nutritional Healthcare division, which owns brand including Lucozade, Ribena and Horlicks.
