Inject a cheaper labelling alternative

Linx Printing Technologies says its new thermal inkjet (TIJ) printer is a cost-effective alternative secondary packaging labeller for small manufacturers.

Developed for large character marking, the Linux IJ200 promises reduced costs via reduced maintenance and downtime. It uses TIJ technology in a disposable cartridge format that is easy to install and change and provides text and graphics and linear and 2D barcodes.

With a resolution of up to 600dpi and throughput speeds of up to 120m a minute, the Linx IJ200 can print directly onto boxes or cartons used for secondary packaging. This is useful for smaller operations, according to Linux.

"Such companies rarely have on-site maintenance, so they need a reliable solution to print secondary codes simply, cleanly and with no hidden costs," explains Paul Doody, director of marketing at Linx.

Printer cartridges contain both the ink system and the printhead itself. This means that they are disposable (minimising printer maintenance and ensuring consistently high print quality); there is also no need to purchase expensive ribbons or labels.

The Linx IJ200 supports up to two 50mm printhead assemblies for greater printing flexibility.
