Pie maker shows its metal
The twin-headed system was required because the new product line processed pies that were sealed in more than one type of packaging, with some in aluminium foil trays and others in plastic containers.
The Phantom in-foil metal detector is able to differentiate between different metal contaminants that may occur within food and the foil packaging used to encapsulate it.
Using the latest digital signal processing technology, the Phantom provides accuracy, while also offering good reliability, high speed and excellent detection results.
On Freshpack's pie production line, it is installed just after the packaging process and operates at a speed of 32 packs a minute.
