Jam, marmalade and honey maker Duerr's has called in automation and control systems specialist Denca Controls to facilitate its honey processing line.

Duerr's wanted to add a second melting chamber to grow capacity at its plant in response to rising demand for its range of honeys from the supermarkets serving health-conscious consumers.

Denca's brief consisted of upgrading its existing system by adding controls, modifying software, configuring and integrating new hardware into the existing process, installing all necessary cables, and getting the new system into service.

Once the system was up and running, a rigorous testing procedure was implemented to make sure that the new system would run smoothly.
